Vittles promotes food security in several ways. Swipe sharing matches you with a verified classmate who has a meal swipe to spare. Vittles displays dining hall menus, campus dining locations, hours of operation, and open-now status updates. Swipe Drops allow students to offer several swipes at one hall at the same time, so a few classmates can claim one each and meet up to dine. The Events section shows a feed of campus activities, with a one-tap sign-up feature. Group Dining lets students host a table at a dining hall.
We're live at Columbia University and opening more campuses as students ask and dining programs sign up. If you want it at your school, email us from your .edu address and we'll set it up and tell you the day it opens.
Every account is verified with a school email, so only students from your campus can participate. Profiles show shared meals and mutual connections, meet-ups happen at the dining hall door with a four-digit code, and there is an in-app feature for reporting misconduct and other inappropriate behavior. If there is an emergency, or if something illegal or unsafe happens, contact your campus security or call 911.
No. Vittles runs inside each school's existing guest-swipe rules: the limits, eligible dining facilities, and hours of operation set by your college or university's dining policy. Schools that partner with us configure those rules directly, and a student cannot be matched for a swipe if that would violate the policy.
